Quality Manager

Overall responsible for quality assurance (QA), and quality improvement within the Jacobs Charleston WV operations and for all projects executed from this office.
Act as a Champion for Quality with Business Development, Operations, and Projects.
Manages and represents the quality process through frequent communication, training and presentations within the entire organization and towards external parties.
Create / update / communicate local quality procedures and work instructions, and assist in the development of discipline work processes, procedures and tools.
Report to the Operations Management Team, the status on audits, client surveys and other project activities.
Facilitates local and regional quality improvement initiatives and executes them together with the operational organization.
Ensure that all data entered in Quality Data System (QDS) is accurate and complete.
Act as champion or facilitate the implementation of Jacobs Value Enhancing Practices (JVEPs).
Customize Project Work Process Map (JSTEPS) and project procedures with Project Manager and Project Controls Manager.
Organizes and performs client expectation (CES) and client satisfaction surveys (CSS).
Organizes and performs internal and external quality audits.
Provides QA/QC technical guidance to projects & departments.
Organizes and gives training and presentations concerning quality, both internal and external.
Investigates complaints and quality issues and identifies corrective / preventive actions.
Management of Intellectual Property Protection.
Maintain good relationships with department managers but, if needed, elevate issues to the Operations Management Team.
Assist PM with preparation of materials for OPR meetings. Attend OPR meetings and present information about Project Quality Program.
Facilitate team alignment in JVEP sessions such as risk management, lessons learned.
On specific projects:
Manages or acts as the Project Quality Engineer.
Write the Quality section of the PEP, or a separate Project Quality Plan (PQP) that incorporates both the Jacobs' and Client's procedures and work processes.
Establish the project audit schedule together with PM and manage its implementation.
Assist PM with preparation of materials for OPR meetings. Attend OPR meetings and present information about Project Quality Program.
Support the PM in the selection and execution of appropriate JVEPs.
Facilitate team alignment in JVEP sessions such as risk management, lessons learned.
Provide any quality documents / information / tools that the project team may need to execute the project.
Monitor the completion of audits by the disciplines.
Initiate, schedule and implement Gate Reviews (including PDRI) for the projects to measure our progress towards meeting the client specific phase deliverables.
Monitor / analyze Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data and address trends or systemic issues. Involve / inform Management regarding systemic issues.
Project Management / Engineering experience of at least 10 years.
Team player.
Excellent people management and communication skills.



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
